Preschool

Our Philosophy:

St. John’s Lutheran Preschool operates in conjunction with St. John's Lutheran School and Church and together with state certified teachers and staff, we provide an outstanding, Christ centered learning environment for your child. The purpose of our program is to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching experience that will allow us to educate and equip students by developing the mind and engaging the heart to impact their communities through the Gospel.

We offer the following:

• A Christ-based education
• Small class sizes (with low teacher to student ratio)
• State certified teachers and staff (1 teacher and 1 teaching aide in every classroom)
• One on one interaction with students
• Academic, developmentally appropriate activities, with a combination of social and academic exposures (instruction based on standards set by the Ohio Department of Education for Pre-Kindergarten. See scope and sequence under forms tab for our detailed course of study)
• Meets state requirements for Preschool Licensing by ODE

• Open enrollment starting in February

Preschool Class Options at St. John's:

3 Year Old Preschool (students must be 3 by September 30th)

• Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 - 11:15 a.m.
• Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 - 11:15 a.m.

4 Year Old Preschool (students must be 4 by September 30th)

• Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 - 11:15 a.m.
• Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12:15 - 2:30 p.m.
• Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 - 11:15 a.m.

Early 5's Alternative Kindergarten - Child must be 5 years old by December 31st of the enrolled school year in order to be eligible and must be potty trained.

Preschool Registration

St. John’s Lutheran Preschool registration kicks off at our all school St. John’s Friends & Family Night (Open House). All interested families, both returning and new, can begin the registration process at this time. Each registration will be time-stamped and enrolled in the order in which they are received. 

Preschool registration comes in two phases. The first phase is open to current SJS families. These families have the opportunity to register their preschooler, pay the registration fees and have first pick as to what class they want for the upcoming school year. It is important to take advantage of this enrollment period if you are eligible.

During the second phase, enrollment is available to any families. At this time, the priority registration offered to current families and church members no longer apply. All students will be enrolled based on the time stamp on their registration.

Please keep in mind that our enrollment process is based on a first-come, first-served time stamp. Your child will be enrolled in your preferred class option based on the time stamp of your child's registration.
